Using a Torque Wrench
Break-away Torque
The breakaway torque test can be used by inspectors to proof test powertool applications, or can be used to check other hand torque applications.
A production line inspector might use this method to determine if cylinder head fasteners had remained uniformly tightened.
You might also tighten a fastener further to determine applied torque.
Generally, this torque will be greater than the actual applied torque.
