Components of a Calibration Certificate

Other Considerations

Calibration Data

Some customers require the calibration provider to supply calibration data instead of only PASS/FAIL information. Some calibration providers choose to supply a calibration "Data Report" separate from the "Certificate of Calibration" while others incorporate the data as additional pages to the certification. Complex calibrations may require several pages of data often in tabular form including measurement uncertainties for each measurement. In either case the calibration facility should keep the data on file for future reference.

The data shown in the graphic is a calibration report for the vertical gain of one channel of an oscilloscope with "As Found" and "As Left" data. Note the data sheet indicates this is a "Limited" calibration which means all functions have not been calibrated. This requires coordination both with the user as well as making a statement to that effect on the calibration certificate and sticker.
