Periodic Calibration/Record Keeping

Many companies use computer programs to document the calibration records.

Along with the calibration record, it is a good practice to label each measuring instrument with calibration information.

A sticker should be placed on the instrument that indicates the date of the last calibration and the date when the next calibration is due.

This way, an operator can easily tell whether an instrument's calibration is out of date.

An operator should NOT use a measurement estimate whose calibration is out of date.
