Laser-Scan Micrometer

Laser-scan micrometers emit scanning laser beams, which are produced by optical units mounted within a frame.

The laser beams are used to accurately measure such part dimensions as length, width, depth, diameter, roundness, and gaps.

This type of instrument is especially useful for measuring objects that are brittle or elastic, and therefore difficult to measure with calipers or micrometers.

However, laser-scan micrometers can only be used to measure small parts.
