Calibration Pyramid

There are four types of measurement standards:

• Working standards
• Reference standards
• Secondary standards
• Primary standards

These various types of standards are all part of what we call a calibration pyramid.

A calibration pyramid is a series of increasingly accurate standards used to calibrate measurement instruments that have increasingly greater accuracy.
