Calibration with Torque Testers

It we were calibrating a wrench which read from 0 to 200 lb.-in., we would not calibrate it using the 0 - 2,000 lb.-in. tester.
We would use the 0 to 250 lb.-in tester. It may be necessary at times to use different testers to calibrate one wrench.
If we have a wrench with a range of 0 to 350 lb.-in, the low-end of the wrench would be calibrated using the 0 to 250 lb.-in tester.
To calibrate from 250 to 350 lb.-in., the 0 to 2000 lb.-in tester would be utilized.
This technique of using the lowest range tester for the instrument under test provides optimum calibration accuracy.
